Doesn't matter if it's through a powerful True Resurrect spell or a humble Raise Cadaver ability, a dead body can only be raised once. Finally, you can just raise the corpses yourself before the enemy can. Some other units can eat enemies while they're alive (the "swallow whole" ability) which obviously leaves no corpse to be raised. They also have units that can simply eat them. Necromancers have a spell that makes corpses explode. Disintegrate klils a foe without leaving a corpse. Grey Guards have a spell that destroys corpses and heal your troops. Oh, and besides standing on a corpse, there are a few other ways of getting rid of corpses and preventing them from being resurrected. (And if it's a really nasty enchantment, you can even just withdraw if the disjunct fail and try again next time, but that WILL count as a loss and hurt your troops' morale so this should be done sparingly.)Ĭities also sometimes have enchantments from buildings. It doesn't always work, but it can make a huge difference. Note that you can also disjunct these spells if you have the casting points. These can make quite a big difference, and the tomb one is one of the most insidious ones. You can tell by the icons on the top right of the screen during combat, and also from little icons on the pre-battle screen. Lots of treasure sites have combat enchantments active.
